In this episode of the Dairy Dialog podcast, Dan Meyer, Saint-Gobain's Strategic Channel Manager, discusses Versilon™ XFR’s benefits for dairy processing applications with Jim Cornall, editor of Dairy Reporter.
Versilon XFR, an extra-flexible and lightweight suction and discharge hose designed for food and beverage transfer applications was introduced in June by Saint-Gobain. In this podcast, Versilon XFR's suitability for the dairy industry is explored, along with its various uses in dairy plants, including the transfer of dairy products to trucks. Further, Mr. Meyer explains how a complete hose and fitting solution can be achieved by combining XFR with a wide array of specially designed ReSeal® fittings. Versilon XFR combines ergonomic handling and easy cleaning into a single food and beverage transfer solution. With a lower weight per foot than traditional suction and discharge hoses, Versilon XFR is easier to bend and attach to pumps and tanks. The hose is compatible with many food product types such as dairy, beer, wine, and spirits.
XFR has an inner bromobutyl rubber tube that is FDA compliant and reduces the risk of flavor contamination. The hose’s reinforcement is made of strong 316L stainless steel wire helix and multi-ply synthetic fabric. The smooth, convoluted blue hose cover is abrasion, ozone, aging, oil and chemical resistant and is also FDA compliant. Its wide corrugated low friction material is easy to clean and leaves no marks when dragged on the floor. The hose assembly conforms to the 3-A Sanitary Standard 62-02. To further ensure strict hygienic standards, XFR can be cleaned via CIP or SIP methods. For easy handling and additional protection, HoseGard™ hose support can be added to elevate the hose from the floor in washdown applications to protect your investment. Learn more about XFR here >>
